My event calendar application,
written in Classic ASP with an MS Access database, works
well with my photo gallery application (and as a stand alone event calendar) and supports
recurring events for weekly • every other week • annual • first, second, third, fourth and last weekday of a month
• and first, second, third, fourth and last weekday of a month annually. Calendar pages have mouse over balloons
for each event.
In future updates, I intend to include an event search, an event reminder and dates for special holidays like Mardi Gras and Easter.
I'll include a link here to the admin section soon.

0 for today. For fun I've added some food holidays throughout the year that tie in nicely with some of the food photos I've taken.

My photo gallery application, written in Classic ASP with an MS Access database, makes good use of
Persits' AspUpload & AspJpeg server
components to dynamically generate
color, grayscale & sepia tone
photos, crop & sharpen thumbnails, add watermarks, and resize images, all on the fly.
For HTML 5 browsers, I used a single upload form field for selecting multiple files at once.
For HTML 4 browsers, I included multiple upload form fields. There are no limits on the number of
categories, photos or albums, but displaying anything over 200 thumbnails
at a time without lowering the quality of the thumbnails may be slow for the end user.
I also preserved some metacontent in the image files on upload to display on the image
during a mouseover event.
In future updates, I intend to write an AJAX version and a choice of slideshows
to view the full size photos.

This page started out with a very small list of links to
some of my work. In 2008 it became more of a journal of events for the year and a page
to play with my photos and a few applications. Today it's still the way it was when I last updated it in December of 2008.
As I add more content to this site, links to this page will become less prominent, but for now the page makes for a good
place holder and it does have a couple of cool applications :)

the12volt.com is an on going project of mine to provide a free on line resource of technical information as well as tips
and tricks of the trade to mobile electronics installers, enthusiasts and do it yourself'ers. After all, I was a mobile electronics
installer for 27 years! The site includes free vehicle wiring diagrams and technical information for car stereos, car alarms,
remote starters, keyless entries, cruise controls, mobile video, sections on Ohm's law, resistors, passive crossovers,
subwoofer boxes, subwoofer wiring calculators, relay diagrams, diodes, resistors, and more!
Within a month of getting my first computer in 1998, I began learning HTML and started drawing diagrams in
MS Paint and sharing them on line. In January 1999, I registered "the12volt.com" and have been working on the site ever since.
Over the years I've spent countless hours, often 20+ at a time, learning and/or writing AJAX, ASP, CSS, DHTML,
HTML, JavaScript, Perl, RSS, SQL, VBScript, WAP, XHTML, XML and other geeky web related stuff.
Today the12volt.com still looks like it did in 2000 and is loaded with dozens of my web applications, hundreds of my diagrams
and wiring information for thousands of vehicles. The site has over 400,000 registered members and receives an average of over
1.2 million page views each month by thousands of visitors each day.
